2009:
Snuck into this year in the midst of strangers that looked like past acquaintances, made an excursion into the west, made foolish mistakes, made some friends. I cannot get over the fact that my iPod loves The Jam so much. But I digress.
Was in San Francisco for the first time as an adult. Saw The Slackers for probably the 12th time, got a great picture of myself and dicso dave....(see above) I feigned being nervous post show to being way to fucking drunk, but at least I got the picture. I tend to get like that on vacation.
It was a less than 48 hour jaunt, and Lindbergo, Swissgaar and myself were enjoying the new and refreshing smack of a different city. It was urban, costal, brimming with women, bars and new sights, much like any other outward excursion. But the luster, smell and crackle of the fog and culture was very fitting to the slice of a new year on the cusp.
January was productive outside the horrible smack down that I was on the receiving end of @ work. I don't know, it was just children being children and me being the inescapable Hellickson that I am.
On a more current note...
Raping the Internet and Soulseek for music more so than I have in months, close to finishing the pearl Raleigh this week. Netflix is being dismantled no matter how much I add to the queue. Tax return was systematical torn down like scabs on a leper for the want I had been thirsting upon for the previous six months.
Lindbergo was caught cheating (almost(R.I.P. GW)). Gained weight, but look to shave, slice, and cut off in the approaching months of warmth.
Warm yourself by the fire, it will become far more interesting.
Typo!! You and Dave look good together. Yes, shave the weird-beard. Yes, SF was fun. Music on Soulseek? Like what?
ReplyDeleteleave the gingham for the girls and the drummers.

ReplyDeleteChasing down the best of 1190 2008, other blog recommendations, always hunting down 20jazzfunkgreats picks that I like. You know, nothing you would really like. I have really been enjoying Beach House and Amanda Palmer as of late however.
